Security researchers found over **70 fake websites** impersonating popular Windows programs — VLC, Notepad++, 7-Zip, WinRAR, and more. They buy Google ads so they appear *above* the real site. Click "Download" and you get malware that steals passwords, mines crypto, or locks your files. The real sites: `videolan.org`, `notepad-plus-plus.org`, `7-zip.org`, `win-rar.com`. Bookmark them. Or get apps from the Microsoft Store.
